How to create a News Article
This tutorial shows how to publish a News Article on the MaterialsCommons knowledge base. News Articles appear in the news feed on materialscommons.eu.
Scheduled publishing: the website only shows articles whose publish date is today or in the past. Setting a future publish date stages the article so it appears on that date, provided it has been approved.
Review required: new and edited content is published to the website only after a reviewer has approved it. Until then the page carries a "not approved" notice on the wiki and is not synced.
1. Open the editor
Open the News Article category page (News Article) and click Create in the top-right page actions.

2. Fill in the title and publish date
Enter the article title in the Label / Text field.

Set the Publish Date - use a future date to schedule the article - then click Save.

3. Add the article body
The form only fills the structured data. To write the article text, open the new page and click Edit in the top-right page actions - this opens the visual editor.

4. Review and approval
Saving does not publish the article. Until a reviewer approves it, the page shows the notice "This is the latest revision of this page; it has no approved revision".
A user with review rights (group reviewer, sysop or bureaucrat) opens the page and clicks Approve this revision.
The following users can approve:

Unapproved article: click Approve this revision
If the article has images or file attachments, use Approve latest with all N embedded files instead, so the attachments are approved together with the article.
Once approved, the notice changes to "This is the approved revision of this page".

Only approved revisions are synced to the website, and always the newest approved one. If you edit an already-approved article, the website keeps showing the last approved version until the new revision is approved as well.
Result
The article is now in the News Article category. It appears in the website news feed once both conditions are met: a revision has been approved, and the publish date has been reached.
