About

MaterialsCommons builds a federated digital infrastructure for advanced materials research and development, connecting currently fragmented resources across Europe through a machine-actionable multi-node ecosystem centred on a single, user-friendly web entry point. It establishes shared schemas, taxonomies, terminologies and ontologies as a common language for the materials community, and delivers three core technologies - semantic interoperability, interoperable workflows, and federated dataspaces - making each node of the development chain FAIR, machine-readable and reproducible. The infrastructure is validated in representative industrial use cases and targets a fully functional TRL6 prototype that unites advanced materials research and development across Europe.
